| The Lyrics...
I had a discussion with a very good friend about "The
Word" and the importance of Gods gift of language and
it's impact on Humanity. Language cannot come
close to describing an event or an emotion. Some get close
and, of course, some are better than others but there
is no way that I can describe to you how I felt when I first
fell in Love or how low my heart sank when I lost that same Love.
With the added help of a Musical backdrop one can come closer
but "The Word" shuts off our sixth and seventh
senses. That being said, I would like to write a few words
around the songs and lyrics on White Flowers.
"White Flowers" is a song based on a poem by
Pradip Malde. I met Pradip at his photograghy exhibition in
Oslo and under the influence of the gallery owner, Bjørn
Sterri, we decided to have a session and see what we could
come up with. Bjørn has kick started many of these
sessions where I work with a non-musician so Pradip came in with his poems and I had my sounds.
It sparked a truly creative period for the both of us. It also gave birth to a new project called "The Fog Prophets". White Flowers was a song
that stood aside from the other Fog Prophet songs and that
is when I decided to include it on my solo record. It is hard
to put a finger on Pradips words since they hit both the conscience
and sub-conscience.
"Without your Love" was written whilst I was in
Italy. To be in such a beautiful country with such a broken
heart created the atmosphere for this song. A friend gave
me the good advice to "Go to your guitar... it will ease
the pain until you put it down again"
