Musician, Writer & Producer
Leif Johansen has earned a reputation on
many fronts. His ability to play many different instruments
along with his knowledge and expertise in the studio has made
Leif a valuable asset in many different productions and bands.
Leif studied classical and jazz music at North
Texas State University. After a year of school Leif moved
to Detroit started working professionally with Michael
Henderson (Bassist with Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and
the first electric bassist with Miles Davis) amongst other
Motown artists for a short period of time before receiving
a full scholarship to the University of Miami. After several
years playing in the top ensembles Miami Leif relocated
to Norway. Leif shortly thereafter joined A-HA on several world tours and recordings as both Bassist and Keyboard programmer.
From there Leif
went on as a freelance musician/producer based in London. After years of working with many established artists and producers
Leif established 21 Guns along with Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy
fame and signed a record deal with RCA in New York. This marked
the beginning of his career as a song writer. Leif also became
a member of Far Corporation along with Scott Gorham, Bobby Kimbal, Simon
McCauley and Simon Phillips amongst others....
Leif is now situated in Oslo Norway where he
owns Stable Studios along with Jojje (Georg) Wadenius. Jojje
is a legendary guitarist who has worked with Blood, Sweat
and Tears, Luther Vandross, Simon and Garfunkel and Steely
Dan to name but a few.
Leif has currently completed and released Alfies "The Grey Between" on his record company "Green Pole Records" |
